Nice modernist wardrobe designed by Willy van der Meeren and manufactured by Tubax, Belgium 1952. This wardrobe was actually designed for schools but are used for multiple purposes now. Very nice example of Belgian modernism designed by van der Meeren who was one of the most important designers of that period. The cabinet has a black painted metal structure with teak wooden sides and top. The sliding doors are made of blue and grey painted metal with solid teak handles which are very similar to the handles by Jean Prouve. The cabinet has a nice patina from age and usage and is in fully original condition. Very nice and well kept piece of Belgian design, hard to find nowadays.
