Stunning long minimalist sideboard designed by William Watting and manufactured by Fristho Franeker, Holland 1954. The sideboard is made of teak wood and has white painted fronts and brass details, corners, legs etc. The fronts are painted in off white. On the left and right there are 2 foding doors, both with a shelve behind. The middle features 3 drawers. This sideboard shows how strong a combination of materials and colors can be. The advertisement to announce these new series by Fristho was designed by Wim Crouwel. Typical minimalist Dutch modern cabinet in very good condition. The teak part is refinished but the white is still fully original and shows wear from age (crackle) in the paint, it gives the piece more character. The brass parts show a nice patina and give this piece a luxurious appearance.
