William Watting long sideboard Fristho Franeker 1954

Superb long minimalist sideboard designed by William Watting and manufactured by Fristho, Holland 1954. The credenza is made of teak wood and has brass details, corners, legs etc. The 3 drawers in the middle are white painted. On the left there are 2 foding doors and on the right 2 slinding doors, both with shelves behind. This sideboard was custom made for a client and this was not how this was presented in the Fristho cataogue, this is a unique piece made on customers order. The sideboard is marked on the inside with the Fristho metal emblem. This sideboard shows how strong a combination of materials and colors can be. The advertisement to announce these new series by Fristho was designed by Wim Crouwel. Typical minimalist Dutch modern cabinet in very good condition.
