A fantastic, and unique constructed cabinet designed by Japanese designer Taichiro Nakai and manufactured by Permanente Mobili Cantu, Italy 1953. This cabinet is made of maple wood and has a black painted metal structure. This cabinet has the appearance that the metal zig zag structure is woven through the wooden cabinets. However, the cabinet rests on the metal structure and is secured between the entire structure which gives a very interesting look from every angle. The black painted tubular metal structure is a great contrast with the soft toned maple wood. The cabinet has very nice brass detailed handles and has 4 keys (3 different ones). There are several different compartments, all with different features and components. Glass shelves, doors, drawers, folding doors, all finished with the minimalistic big brass handle. The fronts of the components are finished with a vertical structure, which gives the cabinet an extra dimension. The overall condition is very good, it has been slightly refinished where necessary, with full preservation of its authenticity. A unique and quirky piece in many ways.
