Striking pair of unusual shaped ski resort stools made by unknown architect in France 1960s. These stools are made of sturdy pine wood, and what makes them fascinating is the amazing aged wide leather bands. They’re a blend of straight lines and gentle curves, which makes them super nice to look at and sit on. The backrest is a cylindrical tube with a piece carved out to give support.
The seats are woven with thick natural cognac leather, and the way they’ve aged over the years gives the stools so much character. On the front and back of the seats are cylinders cut in half which gives them an overall playful look. On the bottom of the chairs there are horizontal slats for support but also to put your feet on. The design of these stools is right in line with the work of famous designers like Charlotte Perriand, Christian Durupt, and Pierre Chapo.
Priced and sold in a set of 2.
