This rare and exceptional set of eight ‘Lucio Costa’ dining chairs was designed by Sergio Rodrigues and manufactured by his own company OCA in Brazil in 1956. A true icon of Brazilian modernist design, the Lucio Chair pays tribute to the renowned architect and urban planner Lucio Costa, whose influence helped shape modern Brazilian architecture.

Crafted in solid wood, originally Brazilian Rosewood, each chair features a finely sculpted backrest with an anatomical curvature that offers both comfort and visual elegance. The solid wood has amazing wood grains featuring flame patterns, super light parts contrasting amazingly with the dark, a true work or natural art where this wood is known for. The seats are made of flat cane, a hallmark of Rodrigues’ signature use of natural materials, while the round feet and clean lines reflect a balance between modernity and tradition. Lightweight and graceful, these chairs are not only aesthetically striking around a dining table but also exceptionally comfortable.

This particular set is composed of two original sets of four chairs, carefully matched to form a cohesive group of eight.
