Rare low chair and stool in 1, design and made by Alain Gaubert, France 1950. This small and adjustable chair is by the designer Alain Gaubert. The form of this chair is truly unique as the curved seat is rare for the designs of Gaubert. This early design by Gaubert might be predecessor for Gaubert’s mediation stools. Something that this low chair could be suited for as well. The stool/chair can be used in 3 different positions, to sit on the chair as you would normally sit, its very low. You can use the back rest as a stool height seat, and you can put your knees on the lower part and sit on the back rest to use as e meditation stool. Its an ingeinious piece with the right patina. Beautiful sculptural design in good original condition.
