Amazing sculptural console table made in the style of Ico Parisi made by a small unknown Italian factory back in the 1950s. It is a typical design with close relations to works by Ico Parisi, Paolo Buffa and Gio Ponti. The console is built with a maple wooden structure and stands on four feet tapered. A reversed V-shape holds the back legs together. Two brass connections link the front and back legs in an elegant way, and the front leg has a slight bend that gives it a dynamic appearance. There’s a nicely sculpted drawer in the middle for small items. What makes this console really special is its beautiful Lumachella marble top. It’s like a maze of stone with hues of orange, brown, yellow, and off-white, giving it a luxurious feel, you can keep looking at these amazing veins. This piece is in great original condition with only minor age related wear, nothing mention worthy. This piece would look fantastic in a hallway, living room, or bedroom, paired with a chair or mirror.
Kindly note that the chair on the pictures is not included in this listing.
Lumachella marble, also known as Lumachella di San Vito, is a distinctive fossiliferous limestone renowned for its unique appearance. This marble is characterized by its rich fossil content, primarily gastropods and bivalves, which create intricate and visually striking patterns within the stone. Available in various colors, including shades of brown, grey, red, and black, Lumachella marble has been prized since ancient Roman times for its aesthetic appeal and used in flooring, wall cladding, and decorative inlays. Today, it remains a popular choice in high-end interior design, admired for its blend of natural history and elegance.
