Ruud Jan Kokke woven chair The Netherlands 1986

Very nice and rare modernist chair designed by Ruud Jan Kokke and it is manufactured in his own workshop, Holland 1986. This chair is made of birch plywood and solid square birch legs. Because the chair is fully made of birch wood, it is not really heavy and easy to move around. It has a very nice woven whin plywood seat and back. Kokke was well known for his artistic birch and plywood designs and this chair shows several of those carpentry skills into one amazing and one of a kind chair. The chair seats comfortable and only a very few of these (ca. 100 pieces) were made as these are all hand made by Ruud-Jan Kokke in his workshop. The chair is brand marked on the bottom; KOKKE. A very nice and early work by a highly talented, but way undervalued designer from The Netherlands. The chair is in very good and fully original condition.
