Rare and unique artwork coffee table designed and made by Rien Goené, Utrecht 1959. Rien Goene was a Dutch artist, painter and sculptor who inspired his work on the Cobra movement that was founded in 1948. He started making tables together with Paul Kingma, who was very successful making this kind of tables between 1958 and 2000. Rien Goené focussed more on sculptures and only made very few tables. Very nice and richly inlayed with the most beautiful colored stones he could find. The tables are very unique and have a great abstract finished top. Table is signed at the bottom R G and his 2 hand prints. The table is in good original condition with minor marks along the edges which is normal for these tables. Highly decorative piece of Dutch art/design.
