Beautiful typical Scandinavian lounge chair made by unknown designer or manufacturer but with high attention to detail. This chair bought and therefor most probably made in Denmark in the 1950s has a nickel chrome plated tubular metal frame, with a cross in the centre to connect the 4 legs and provide stability to the structure. The legs are finished with 4 flat round metal feet to protect the floor. And a nice detail is the little kink where the back legs are attached to the seat, this is a structural necessity but an aesthetic more interesting look. The seating has a beautiful hand-woven flat rattan structure with nice detailing in the weaving. Also, this detailing in the seat proves what a quality chair this is. The beautiful patinated frame is in original condition and the rattan seating is as well. There are no damages to the rattan which is remarkable for a chair this age. It is a comfortable chair to sit in as the organic but static shape of the chair provide enough comfort. The chair has many interesting features and similarities to other designer chairs for example the SZ02 by Martin Visser or the 1LC chair by William Katavolos. However, this chair is pretty certain from Danish origin and looks like an early piece. Very nice and decorative chair which would easily fit in any modern design interior.
