Iconinc daybed model PK80 designed by Poul Kjaerholm and manufactured by Ejvind Kold Christensen, Denmark 1957. The daybed is in fantastic fully original condition, as this was from an old store stock it was only used a showroom model. This is a late EKC edition from the 1970s. The leather is in impeccable condition and the frame as well, the wooden plate has some paint loss from moving around but still is fully original. The daybed is marked accordingly with the EKC stamp on one of the legs. These early EKC editions are very hard to find, especially in this untouched original condition.
The PK80 Daybed is the embodiment of Poul Kjærholm’s talent for refining historical models and distilling design down to its very essence. The daybed draws inspiration from a couch designed by Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich in 1930. It can be found today in the Museum of Modern Art and around the world as a celebrated illustration of craftsmanship and modern design.
