Rare early edition of the PK55 designed by Poul Kjaerholm and manufactured by Ejvind Kold Christensen, Denmark 1957. This table designed by one of the best furniture architects of the 20^th century, was minimalistic as all other Kjaerholms designs. This table is a perfect example of a multipurpose piece. For someone who loves to use the dining table as a working table, this is the one. The table has matt chrome plated solid steel structural frame, which is very nicely constructed. You can really see in all the details that this table was designed by an architect’s mind. It could almost be an architectural element from a building, or bridge. The top is made of white laminated wood, which is a rare version of this table as this mostly goes in ash wood. This is the largest version as well, which is the most practical one. The table does not have the EKC Denmark stamp but the later ones by Fritz Hansen made in the 1980s were 3 cm higher. And you can now only custom order the 204cm long one. This is a collector’s piece for sure and in stunning original condition. The table was owned by an Architect who was very careful with it so there are no remarkable wear on this table that should be pointed out. Table fits 6-8 chairs with ease.
