Poul Kjaerholm PK54 dining table Fritz Hansen 1983

Stunning large sized model PK54 dining table designed by Poul Kjaerholm and manufactured by Fritz Hansen, Denmark 1983. This round dining table is from the second production which was made by Fritz Hansen. Fritz Hansen took over the production and sales of “The Kjærholm Collection”, developed from 1951 to 1967, designs, which are logical to the minute detail with an aura of exclusivity. This table was produced only 1 year after Fritz Hansen started the production of it, a very early Fritz Hansen edition. The table has a beautifully constructed cubic frame in matt chrome plated steel. This frame still carries the Fritz Hansen stamp and date sticker of 1983. The top is made of flint rolled Carrara marble and the PK54A extension leaves are made of maple wood. The table is in original condition with wear along the wooden extensions due to age and usage, but no mention worthy damages besides normal traces of use. The table can also be used without the wooden extensions, without extensions it measures 140cm diameter, with the extensions it measures 210 cm diameter. The PK9 chairs around the table are not included and are available for sale in another listing. It is only for reference to see that this table can easily seat 8 chairs. Poul Kjaerhom was without doubt one of the most important Danish designers of the 20^th century, leaving a broad oeuvre of work which embodies several high quality and constructional masterpieces, including this table. This table is not in fashion, it is a timeless piece that would fit almost every modern home or interior. The chairs are not included in this listing but can be purchases separately.
