Very nice pair of PH Boudoir mirrors designed by Poul Henningsen and manufactured by Louis Poulsen, Denmark 1939. Poul Henningsen created the mirror of future back in the late 1930s and this piece can be considered part of his ‘Bauhaus inspired furniture’ also from the same decade. Poul Henningsen considered there was the possibility of improving the traditional metal backed ‘looking glass’, and so created a mirror that provided backlit illumination and a sense of luxury, as well as being a practical essential intended for use every day. The mirror is made of matt white finished aluminium with a metal structure which holds the mirror in the centre. The mirror uses 3x E14 bulbs up to 25 watt each. PH’s wall mounted mirror design is intended to sit in harmony with the widest variety of interiors and provides a reflection of superior clarity. The pull cord is an on/off switch which is centred in the wall mount part. A minimalistic but very functional and decorative piece at the same time. The mirrors are both in very good original condition and are priced and sold individually.
This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is suitable for use in the USA. For US usage we could change the plug, or you can get a converter if needed for a floor or table lamp with transformer in it. Feel free to inquire for options.
