Pierre Thielen sling lounge chair Metz & Co Holland 1960s

Fantastic sculptural lounge chair designed by Pierre Thielen and sold at Metz & Co, Holland 1960s. This is a fantastic chair, close to the designs by Pierre Paulin, though this is often sold as s pre production from the F444, it is not a design by Pierre Paulin! The chair was not mass produced as this was too expensive to make, so only a very few were made. Metz & Co was an avant garde warehouse that sold only the best Dutch and international designs. That this chair was sold there means they saw the potential of this chair. Too bad the designer never broke through. The chair is made of stainless steel and cognac leather seat, the pillow is made of linen and is newly upholstered. The chair has a fantastic patina to the very thick leather. Super comfortable and relaxing seating, what a stunner.
