Super practical chest of drawers designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard Nielsen and manufactured by Soborg Mobler, Denmark 1958. The cabinet has 5 drawers which provide a lot of storage possibilities. The drawers all have the typical boomerang shaped handles which were a trademark for this design by Hvidt and Molgaard. Another nice detail is the way the cabinet is constructed. Where normally these beautiful dovetail connections were only used on the inside of cabinet drawers, Hvidt and Molgaard decided to make these connections a part of the design. And we totally agree that they can be seen. This beautiful woodworking is part of the aesthetical beauty of this piece and would be way more boring without. The cabinet is made of solid teak wood which has a nice and deep tan, even some veins running through the wood. A fantastic piece of craftsmanship in Danish design. The cabinet is in very good original condition with normal wear from age and usage, nothing mention worthy though.
