Super nice and unique rectangular coffee table designed and made by Paul Kingma, Holland 1997. This one is signed Kingma and 1997 which was the production year. This is for an nice sized rectangular white one, white ones are hard to find. The large and heavy concrete with marble inlay top rests on 2 metal L shaped bases that are off white lacquered. Very nice composition of slate and stones make this table a work of art to use. The white tables could officially also be used outside, the dark ones couldn’t. This is a very nice white one which is rare and with marble inlay is quite special with the fossil inlays.
Paul Kingma was well known for his architectural tables that pay a tribute to the riches of Nature by traveling extensively in search of rare materials, whether raw or industrially produced. He combines recourse to materials used in architecture like stone, metal and concrete, with rich varied materials as brass, copper, glass or ceramic. All his tables are unique one off productions and when he got famous, most were special client’s orders. All his tables are marked, the early ones only at the bottom, from the 1960s he started marking them with a metal tag at the top and later he also added the production year.
We have been working with Paul Kingma’s work for several years now and prices have increased a lot, where the offer on these tables lowered. Especially the nice early undamaged examples are hard to find. With this in your home you will have something nobody has!
