Nice one off coffee table made by Paul Kingma, Holland 1972. Paul Kingma was well known for his architectural tables that pay a tribute to the riches of Nature by traveling extensively in search of rare materials, whether raw or industrially produced. He combines recourse to materials used in architecture like stone, metal and concrete, with rich varied materials as brass, copper, glass or ceramic. All his tables are unique one off a kind productions and when he got famous, most were direct client’s orders. The tables are more like a piece of art that you can use as furniture too. He also made wall reliefs and artworks similar to this.
This is a very nice example with nice stone tiles in green, purple and yellow/brown combined with dark grey slate. This table was ordered by the previous and first owner in 1972 and they received it 4 months later. This example is marked Paul Kingma without date on the brass inlay strip. The table is in good and original condition. Monumental table and work of art combined. The top and base are not attached, easy to move and ship because of this.
We have been working with Paul Kingma&https://mmd.pixeldustlab.nl/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/demo-img.jpg39;s work for several years now and prices have increased a lot, where the offer on these tables lowered. Especially the nice early undamaged examples are hard to find.
