This is for a very pleasing and Monumental sized grey marble sculpture made by painter and sculptor Paolo Schiavampo, Italy 1977. Schiavocampo gained a name for himself due to the collaboration with ‘fiumara d’arte’ in messina with the display of his work “Una curva gettata alle spalle del tempo” which translates in “A curve thrown behind time” This stunning large sized work is cut out of 1 piece of grey marble and has been very well preserved. The lower part of the sculpture has some surface scratches, which could be polished on request. The sculpture has sharp edges, and nice curves and challenges the viewer to go on a visual quest to unwind the mystery the shapes are beholding. Every new angle seems to release a completely new work on itself. There is also a lot of movement and rhythm and makes the forms transform from something what appears to be thin, into a wide object and vice versa. This gallery or museum quality piece, which is signed at the side by Schiavocampo ’73, would make a great addition to any modern collection. Note that the sculpture is very heavy, estimated around 85kg.
