Very curious and nice pair of French lounge chairs in Oak wood with woven ropes for seating made in France in the 1950s. We could not determin their maker, but these chairs clearly resemble the spirit of French Avant-Gardism and Modernism, and somewhat look like the designs by Pierre Jeanneret or Rene Gabriel for example.
The overall condition is still very good, this pair has been kept well throughout the years and they have no signifacant marks that are worth mentioning. There is some light color variation in the wood between the chairs, which in this case may indicate that the maker produced small series of furniture, or at least was very experimental in his work. Besides a wonderful patina on the wood, the ropes also are woven in such a manner that is very interesting and absolutely compliment the frame. The overall positioning the feet, backrest and armrests are composed in such a beautifull way, and make this pair really stand out in any interior or collection or project.
