Beautiful sculptural B082 sofa manufactured by Moveis Cimo in Brazil in 1960. This sofa is bulky and yet playful, with a strong wooden frame made of Jatoba wood. The frame is like a rectangle, and at each corner, there are thin tapered legs that hold up the seat. On the front and back corners of the frame, there are shiny brass squares which serve as beautiful detailed and decorative bolts which that add a nice touch. The sofa got re-upholstered with a soft olive green velvet which gives it the soft appearance. The original and fantastic diamond pattern was used in the upholstery again. Right where the seat stops and the back begins, there’s a nice wooden design in the middle. It’s like a special touch that makes the sofa even more interesting. This sofa isn’t just for sitting; it’s like a piece of art where you can relax in. Matching lounge chairs available in another listing.
Cimo’s story began in 1913 as a wood box factory called A.Ehrl e Cia. It transformed into a furniture factory named Móveis Cimo S.A. in 1982 after several changes. It became the most signaficant maker in Latin America, shaping the region’s development and furniture manufacturing. The lounge chair, a creation of Móveis Cimo, stems from a Brazilian furniture factory established by Jorge Zipperer and Willy Jung in 1913 in Santa Catarina, Brazil. It grew to be the biggest furniture factory in Latin America from the 1930s to 1970s. The chair showcases the company’s design philosophy, capturing Brazilian culture’s essence with natural materials and organic shapes for distinctive and inventive furniture. Móveis Cimo’s pieces are known for quality, lasting power, and timeless allure, and this lounge chair stands as proof of that tradition.
