Striking pair of wall sconces model 2311 designed by Max Ingrand and manufactured by Fontana Arte, Italy 1964. These sconces have a very classy, yet brutalist look due to the use of high-quality solid materials, but brute finish in the hand chiselled front shades. The structure of the lamps is made of brass and the side panels are made of yellow glass. The lamps give a three-dimensional atmospheric look due to the layers that appear in the front glass shades, combined with the yellow marbled glass on the sides. Sconces are in fully original condition with an amazing patina, brass can be cleaned to shiny brass if wanted as this was solid brass which is fairly easy to polish. Lamps use an E14 bulb up to 60 watt each and they are dimmable. These lamps are checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is suitable for use in the USA.
Fontana Arte was known for its outstanding quality lights and was only sold to the avant-garde from Italy. Also, because it was too expensive for regular earning people these lamps are rare. Makes the lights from Fontana Arte highly wanted and sought after on the market already for years.
