Monumental sized chandelier model 1508 designed by Max Ingrand and manufactured by Fontana Arte, Italy 1954. The lamp consists of a brass structure which is in original condition with its beautiful original patina. The glass shade is divided into two parts, one pink glass lower shade and clear glass upper shade. This design gives the feeling this is made of one thick glass shade and gives volume to the shade. The special feature of this lamp is that the pink lower glass plate is slightly curved. On the bottom sits a curved brass perforated ring that holds the glass in place. Through the perforated holes you can see the bulbs. The three brass stems are connected to the upper part of the glass and the ceiling cap. This brass ceiling cap is nicely made in a conical shape. The lamp gives off a very nice atmospheric light when lit and is a perfect example of high-end Italian design from the 1950’s.
