Very nice minimalist slat bench model BZ82 designed by Martin Visser and manufactured by ‘t Spectrum Bergeijk, Holland 1965. This slat bench is made of solid wenge wood, which has a very nice and unique appearance. Wenge is amongst the protected woods, so this is a rare wooden piece. The structural difficulties a piece like this would have are fully in balance which makes it a very strong and sturdy piece for multiple purposes. Its was originally designed for Stedelijk Museum where it was used as benches to sit on in the museum. But this can also be used as side table, daybed. tv table etc. Its a bit in the manner of the slat bench by Charlotte Perriand but in wenge wood its very nice and special looking. This is the largest version available and in very good original condition with normal and nice patina from age and usage.
Documented in ‘t Spectrum book, page 79.
