Marco Zanuso Square sofa Arflex Italy 1962

Stunning “Square sofa” by architect and designer Marco Zanuso and made in Italy by Arflex in 1962. This sofa is just in an excellent and original condition, and doesn’t have any particular marks of wear and heavy usage. The leather itself looks very good and has been well taken care of in it’s lifetime, the wooden feet, who are quite vulnarable for breaking or chipping, are also looking very good. The stance and form are very interesting, and as Marco Zanuso has produced so many iconic forms, this sofa certainly fits that list. Being one of Italy’s most influencial post war designers, Zanuso was a radical mind who constantly was in search of exploring combinations between new materials and progressive ways to use them in form, and therefore a great example of the optimistic mindset amongst Italian designers after world war two.
