Super rare and beautiful, fully original ‘scissors’ lounge chairs designed by Lina Bo Bardi and manufactured by Studio D’Arte Palma, Brazil 1948. These chairs have stunning solid teak wooden structures and original old green leatherette upholstery. We kept the chairs fully original so the customer can decide how to treat them. These chairs are clearly designed by an architect’s mind. The construction is fully visible, nice and rounded shaped legs and armrests, all in line with each other. Visible connections as nicely as possible constructed. Comfort was created by a fully upholstered seat and back rest with spring seat covered with foam. And the sharp arm rests have a small cushion on top to provide additional comfort. The chair has similarities to chairs by Gio Ponti and Pierre Jeanneret as well, all designed in the same are so we can wonder, who inspired who. The chairs are priced and sold in a set of 2.
These chairs are museal and we treated them like that, we kept them fully original and can restore them to the new owners wishes, the wood and also the upholstery can be fully customized to your wishes. For someone who wants something special and unique, not your daily set of chairs.
Like all of our upholstered pieces these can also be newly upholstered to your admiration. Ask our experienced upholstery department for an affordable quote for the item you want customized. We only use the best quality fabrics, foam and materials for all of our items. With the reupholstery we will keep the originality in mind so the piece doesn’t lose its value and will be ready for years of use again.
