Lela and Massimo Vignelli Kono coffee table Italy 1979

Playful so called ‘Kono’ coffee table designed by Lela and Massino Vignelli and manufactured by Casigliani, Italy 1979. The table was designed in July 1979 at a meeting between Massimo Vignelli and Casigliani in his New York City studio. It is said that upon his return to Italy the following week, Casigliani had the table produced and that Massimo Vignelli had approved the first prototype and photographs in less than two weeks after the initial draft. The table is a playful design with geometric shapes and a beautiful combination of different materials. Besides that, the table is also a perfectly balanced piece of design, literally and figurative as the aesthetics of this design are outstanding. Where the copper cone perfectly accompanies the white marble, the glass top always makes sure these pieces are visible. The white Carrara marble rectangular part to provide stability for the glass top, the copper cone to provide support at the end, and a thick glass top to keep it all in balance. This table is in fantastic condition, marble without damages, beautiful patina to the copper and glass in very good condition as well. A stunning and beautiful piece of modern Italian design that could easily adapt a mid-century or modern home or interior.
