Stunning pair of ‘Boomerang’ lounge chairs designed by José Zanine Caldas and manufactured in his own workshop Móveis Artisticos Z, Brazil 1950. With his design-oriented view of industrial processes, it was possible to produce an entire side of a chair out of a single piece of cut plywood. This pair of chairs is an outstanding example, consisting of four boomerang shaped pieces that together form one chair, hence its name ‘Boomerang’. The 2 pieces are connected with 4 solid wooden beams which provide stability in the chair but also provide a space to attach the yellow canvas upholstery in an aesthetic way. These chairs are in fully original condition, as you can see on the pictures there are signs of wear and patina to both the wood and canvas. We wanted to keep these important chairs original and can finish them however you want in our atelier. Extraordinary pair of lounge chairs, very difficult to find.
