Iconic pair of Presidencial lounge chairs designed by Jorge Zalszupin and manufactured in his own company L’Atelier, Brazil 1959. The Presidencial series were made of multiple hot-formed plywood parts in Jacaranda rosewood, where the U-shaped seating base was the main part. On this base, solid steel legs were attached in a sloped angle, suggesting its firmness. The backrest is made of wooden slats finished with rosewood veneer and attached onto the minimalistic wooden support which connects to the base with signature brass hardware. The seating itself is filled with very thick and comfortable cushions upholstered in a beige suede and are made to fold over the armrests to provide additional comfort to these large sized chairs. These chairs are one of the most iconic designs by Zalszupin and are in very good, restored condition. Priced and sold in a set of 2.
