Amazing shaped and small sized magazine table designed by Jorge Zalszupin and manufactured by his own company L’Atelier, Brazil 1960. This magazine table is an early version, produced by L’Atelier in very low quantity during the second year of existence. In this design you can very well see the influences Julio Katinsky had in the production of L’Atelier. With many similarities to Katinskys way of construction, designing and combining material. A flat bar metal base of two U shaped sections run along each other to support two transverse solid Jacaranda wood pieces that are ergonomically sculpted. A horizontally Jacaranda rosewood sheet is wedged in between to serve as a tray, steel pipes are concealed by a piece of stitched suede leather to function as a magazine holder. Although not being mass produced, similarities can also be found in the Onda wave bench and the Componivel bench, both including magazine racks in their designs. The table is in outstanding original condition with a gentle patina from age and usage. The chair on the pictures is for size references.
