Minimalist ‘Domino’ magazine rack designed by Jorge Zalszupin and manufactured in his own company L’Atelier, Brazil 1959. In finding new markets, the focus on creating office furniture made L’Atelier successfully transit from being a small workshop to a large establishment. The Domino was created during that transition period between 1962 and 1964 and was part of the third collection designed by Zalszupin. Both the Capri and Domino series were launched simultaneously and were minimalistic additions for the office and home. The Capri consisted of tables and benches, as where the Domino had magazine holders that could be combined and arranged in various positions with other models as tables, stools, and baskets. This was a modular design, useable in many combinations. But also, very nice as a single piece. This rack is in very good original condition and the discoloured, original suede is almost a work of art on its own. The metal structure has some wear as well but preserves a nice patina. This piece is timeless and can be used in any modern home or interior.
