A beautiful version of the Mesa de Centro Chanceler designed by Jorge Zalszupin and manufactured by his own company L’Atelier, Brazil 1959. The Mesa de Centro Chanceler or Chancelers’ table is a modest sized coffee table that can be found in different varieties of tops. The base, however, remains the same with some minor exceptions in the technical execution. To name a few examples, the legs could be made from steel or solid wood and tops could have tapered machined edges or a thick piece of wood covered in Jacaranda rosewood patchwork veneer in round, oval , square or rectangular shape. This design was pretty much a modular design, applicable into different projects for different wishes. This specific table has a wooden veneered frame, with metal structure, with the shape of a cross. A nice detail is that the frame is mirrored from the bottom and top, it has a very nice strong aesthetic look compared to the thin tabletop. The square top has a tapered machined edged top in 1 piece of jacaranda veneer. The veneer has an amazing colour and beautiful veins running through it, which makes the table unique. The top is refinished, and the legs are still in good original condition.
