Minimalistic side table from the Capri line designed by Jorge Zalszupin and manufactured by his own company L’Atelier, Brazil 1959. The capri side table is made with a very minimalist approach but meant to be part of modular applications. Various models were available, containing different marble or wooden tops and slightly curved benches with seating in Suede leather. This progressive idea meant that the Capri could adapt to various needs and desired settings. A thin and square black iron frame encloses the travertine slab at the top and is secured into place by small bottom plates in each corner of the iron. The table is in very good original condition with a nice patina to the metal structure. The travertine top has a beautiful drawing of the stone, which makes this table unique and special. The original L’Atalier label is still on the bottom of the table, its very nicely aged and preserved. This table is easy to adapt in a modern home due to its neutral and minimalistic design. A rare and hard to find piece by Jorge Zalszupin, especially in this fully original condition.
