Super rare limited edition ‘Felt’ stool designed by Hella Jongerius and produced by Jongeriuslab and distributed by Cappellini, Italy 2000. Felt Stool is based on the shape of Porcelain Stool (1997). This was Jongerius’ first attempt to translate an experimental object into an industrial version. This stool is the very first one that was ever made and comes directly from the person who stitched these stools for Jongeriuslab. The stool was made in an edition of 99+1. This is that +1 stool. Stools were quickly sold out and are a collectible since. This stool was used and has some wear to the felt as can be seen on the pictures. The inside of the stool is made of porcelain. Very nice and collectible piece of Dutch contemporary design.
The stool is in the collections: Textielmuseum Tilburg, FRAC, Dunkerque, Art Institute of Chicago, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, private collections, collection of the designer
