You’ll also find a label at the back of the chair that marks its authenticity. The price is for the chair and ottoman as a set.

Founded in 1923 in Varese, Rossi di Albizzate, under the guidance of Giuseppe Rossi, emerged as a prominent player in the Italian design scene. Collaborating with various designers, the company achieved its peak in the 1970s. Giuseppe Rossi’s journey began alongside his brother, working on mattresses, upholstery, and saddlery in Arsago. Eventually, he established his own company in Cavaria with his wife, Maria Saporiti. Later, operations and the family shifted to Albizzate, prompting a company name change in 1980. The company’s significance extended to the Museum of Italian Design at the Triennale Milano. Rossi di Albizzate played a pivotal role in the inception of the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

In the late 1960s, innovations with cold-foamed polyurethane, leading to the Rofoam mixture patent, marked a turning point. Notable architects like G. Vitelli and T. Ammannati introduced the world’s first modular sofa, the Grandangolo. C. Bartoli succeeded in furthering the company’s presence, opening showrooms in Milan and Rome. In 1976, a partnership with the Borbonese fashion house commenced, focusing on birdseye leathers. In the early 1990s, the generational transition saw Luigi and Piero Rossi taking over. New collaborations with designers brought further recognition, with a second product entering the Museum of Italian Design.
