Very nice and iconic so called superleggera (super light weight) chairs model 699 designed by Gio Ponti and manufactured by Cassina, Italy 1957. These early chairs are made in beech wood, black painted and they have super thin cane seats which is still in fantastic condition. One of the most iconic designs from the history of Italian design, I mean who doesnt know the old advertisement where a kid is holding this chair with 1 finger, to point out the weight of this chair. Although the chairs are super light, they are strong and sturdy too, its one of the master pieces by Gio Ponti if you ask me. Also the reason why it is still in production at Cassina today.
