Unusually large set of model 646 ‘Leggera’ chairs designed by Gio Ponti and manufactured by Cassina, Italy 1952. These chairs are made of solid ash wood and have their original shiny golden papercoard upholstered seats. These chairs were made for the restaurant space of a hotel in Brescia. Its quite unusual to find such a large set of these iconinc chairs designed by Ponti. The leggera was a predecessor of the “Superleggera” (model 699), it is a light but solid and sturdy chair. This chair was used in many of the projects by Gio Ponti, it has proven to be in important chair which was made to survive years of intense usage. The chairs are prices and sold per chair. We have a lot of 24 of these available and they are all in similar condition, gently used but no big damages or repairs.
