This stunning and rare pair of minimalist floor lamps, Model 1051, was designed by the iconic Gino Sarfatti and manufactured by Arteluce in Italy in 1966. A masterpiece of mid-century modern design, these lamps exude simplicity and sophistication, showcasing Sarfatti’s unparalleled approach to functional yet artistic lighting. Each lamp features a conical diffuser cup crafted from white methacrylate, providing a soft, even glow that enhances any space. The flexible tube, made of polished brass with a nickel matte finish, has developed a gentle patina over time, adding character to the design. The base comprises a rigid square trunk in white crackle-lacquered metal, paired with a cast square iron base finished in the same texture, creating a harmonious and cohesive aesthetic.
These lamps remain in very good original condition, with minimal wear commensurate with age and use. The perspex shades are intact, with no cracks or damage, and the slight fading on the flexible arm further enhances their vintage appeal. Designed to accommodate E27 bulbs of up to 100 watts, they combine practicality with timeless style.
This rare pair of floor lamps is not only a collector’s dream but also a versatile addition to any modern interior. Their clean, minimalistic lines and high-quality materials make them a standout choice for anyone seeking to incorporate a touch of mid-century elegance into their space.
