This is for a highly refined pair of minimalist ceiling-mounted flush lamps, model 3001/40, a minimalist design by Gino Sarfatti, produced by Arteluce in Italy, 1950. These flush mounts are a fine example of mid-century modern design, embodying the period’s dedication to clean, architectural lines and a focus on subtle, functional elegance. The diffusers are crafted from prismatic glass, which remains in outstanding condition, contributing to a beautifully soft, diffused illumination with a spacious and atmospheric light quality when the lamps are in use.
The structural elements of the fixtures, including both the supporting frames and the outer decorative bands, are fabricated from aluminum. The outer frame has been finished in a crisp white lacquer, while the surrounding ring features a clear polished aluminum finish, a detail that not only enhances the minimalist aesthetic but also showcases the exceptional level of craftsmanship synonymous with Arteluce’s renowned production standards.
These pieces remain in their fully original vintage condition, with some visible surface wear on the rim’s finish, a gentle patina consistent with age and use, which can be professionally refinished upon request should the buyer prefer a restored appearance. Each lamp is equipped to hold four E27 type bulbs, with each socket supporting a maximum of 40 watts, offering an effective yet understated level of illumination that perfectly complements their restrained and thoughtful design language.
