The Model 1074 Floor Lamp, designed by the renowned Italian designer Gino Sarfatti in 1957, is a prime example of minimalistic elegance. Manufactured by Arteluce, this lamp showcases a strikingly simple yet sophisticated design that emphasizes functionality without compromising on aesthetic appeal. The lamp features a sleek, polished or lacquered aluminum sleeve that is fully adjustable, allowing it to move in all directions and slide along the chrome-plated steel stem. A rubber washer ensures the sleeve remains locked in place, allowing for precise height adjustments. An ingenious mechanism located at the top of the tube enables the user to effortlessly adjust the angle of the light, adding to its versatility.
The dark grey crackle-painted cast iron base provides stability and a bold contrast to the lightness of the aluminum and chrome elements. The lamp accommodates a 150-watt maximum spot bulb, providing focused, direct light. This floor lamp is a masterpiece of minimalism and functional design. Sarfatti’s attention to detail is evident in its simple, yet highly effective, structure. In excellent condition, the Model 1074 remains a timeless piece, perfectly blending form and function. Whether as a functional light source or a statement of design excellence, this versatile piece is a standout in any interior setting.
