Gae Alenti Jumbo coffee table Knoll International Italy 1965

Absolutely stunning so called ‘Jumbo’ coffee table designed by Gae Aulenti and manufactured by Knoll International, Italy 1965. This table is made of beautiful white carrara marble which is white with amazing grey veins running through it. This specific table has a beautiful drawing to it which makes the table very unique. The square top rests on 4 marble feet, which have a very nice shape and remind a bit of the Roman architecture. They are 2 pilars connected to each other with a flat piece of marble, giving it a very dynamic shape and also provide perfect stabillity for the top. Which also makes you think, as Carrara was also practically invented by the Romans, is it coincidence or fact in this design. Anyway it is a beautiful clean design, typical for the 1960s and as it was popular then, it still is now. This timeless design would fit in any modern home or interior. The table is in fully original condition, it is slightly faded by sunshine, which makes it a bit more cream instead of white. Some people love it, some dont. It can either way be polished upon request to have it clear white again. The top his normal user wear which gives the table character since it is over 60 years old. There are no actual damages or cracks to the marble top or bases.
