Stunning model 1669 wall mirror designed by Max Ingrand and manufactured by Fontana Arte, Italy 1950. This mirror is made of beautiful round curved crystal glass in a very nice soft sapphire color. The actual mirror is proteced and finished with a chrome plated brass ring. It is a nice large sized mirror and would be a true centerpiece in any modern home or interior. The mirror is in a stunning condition, without any damages to the glass rim. There is slight patina visible on the chrome plated ring, which is normal and proves its authenticity. The mirror uses only 1 screw to hang, which is very easy. This is an iconic design by Fontana Arte.
Fontana Arte was a luxury Italian brand which focussed on the avant-garde from Italy. They were known for its quality and had just started after the Art Deco period. Some of their items still have a classic look and feel but more towards the 50s, their designs got more mondernistic and minimalistic. Back in the days these items were already very expensive and only for a small group of buyers. And, not many of those limited pieces survived the hand of time. It is fairly special to find a good piece by Fontana Arte, especially in a good and original condition.
