Rare contemporary dining table designed by Fabiaan van Severen and manufactured in his own workshop in Belgium, 1995. This table is from the fold and profile series which existed in different sizes. It was made of microspheres blasted stainless steel, which has a very nice, profiled appearance. The structure in the table gives the design a different dimension and also feels very nice. The table has a nice profiled (as the name says already) structure which contributes to the design but also to the construction of this piece, as this is pretty long it should stay strong and stable especially in the middle. The legs are nicely tapered and since they are folded to the inside, they have the appearance of being extremely flat looking at them from certain angles. A very minimal but interesting shape if you look a little bit longer at it. This is the largest version of this table and can actually seat 8-10 chairs. The table is in very good original condition, comes from first owner who was very careful with it. And besides that the table is perfect to use on a daily base.

Fabiaan van Severen started in the 80s to work with his brother Maarten van Severen, being a highly talented designers’ family, both designed in their own way. But both have/had a background where construction was of great importance in their designs. Fabiaan Van Severen was born in Belgium in 1957. Fabiaan was a trained painter and is well-known as designer, he designs furniture, bags and interiors – for his own portfolio and for clients such as Indera, Wow, Auping or Dietiker. One of his important interior design projects is Fort Napoleon in Ostende. Van Severen’s works have been awarded the Henri van de Velde Prize and the East Flanders Design Award several times. Makes him one of the most important Belgian designers from this era.
