Very nice and sophisticated pair of shelving units / bookcases designed by Edmondo Palutari and manufactured by Vittorio Dassi, Italy 1950. This very nice free standing shelving unit was made of rosewood veneer and has several shelves and cabinets to store books and other items and a drawer unit with 2 drawers. The mahogany feet are very nicely crafted, how only the Italians could. The cabinets and shelves are partly made of rosewood veneer. The locks are finished in brass which is a very classy detail and also a part of the aesthetics of this design. This particular unit also has a very nice showcase cabinet with glass doors. And there are cabinets which can be used as a bar, one with drawers etc. It is a very multi-functional piece. The shelving units are free standing and finished all around so they can also be used as room dividers. This is for a pair of symmetrical units, but they can also be used as 1 with 3 elements and a single one if wanted. As this system was modular, it’s possible to put the shelves and cabinets where you want them. Very nice rosewood grain to the unit and its in very good original condition. Priced and sold in a set of 2.
Very good original
