The refined “Cornaro” sofa, designed by renowned architect Carlo Scarpa and manufactured by Simon Gavina in Italy in 1975, is a masterpiece of modern furniture design. This sophisticated piece embodies the elegance and precision characteristic of Scarpa’s work, showcasing a sturdy round ash structure complemented by its dark brown finish. The sofa still has its original cream velvet upholstery, which remains in excellent condition, adding a touch of luxury and comfort.
The deep-cushioned seats are meticulously held in place by leather laces, serving both a functional and decorative purpose. This design detail highlights Scarpa’s ability to blend aesthetics with practicality seamlessly. The influence of Japanese minimalism is evident in the clean lines and simplicity of the Cornaro sofa, reflecting Carlo Scarpa’s signature ultrarazionale style.
Named after a historic Venetian family, the Cornaro sofa exudes a timeless character, making it a versatile addition to any sophisticated interior. The sofa is in excellent, fully preserved condition, available for purchase individually, with a total of four pieces in stock. This rare and exquisite sofa represents a unique opportunity to own a piece of design history, perfect for collectors and connoisseurs of fine furniture.
