Highly versatile pair of so called ‘Reversivel’ (reversible) chairs designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler and manufactured by Forma Moveis, Brazil 1955. These chairs are without any doubt amongst the most iconic chairs from Brazilian origin. This chair is unique in its own way. The lines and material combinations are very typical for the period. The most unique ability of this chair is that the seat is not fixed and therefore is useable in many different positions. You can seat on it normally, lounge in it when sitting in it sideways, and you can use it as an high back relaxing chair as you can adjust the seat in any personal preferred position. The chair has a solid steel frame which is black painted, and the feet are made of brass. The upholstered seat and back rest have an old upholstery, not the original one but it bares age related patina. The foam is still soft and firm, but the fabric has some noticeable wear if you look closely. Since the frames were still fully original and had a rusty surface, the bottom of the seats has a mark of that. We coloured the frames but kept the original authentic look and patina. Priced and sold in a set of 2.
Like all our upholstered pieces these can also be newly upholstered to your admiration. Ask our experienced upholstery department for an affordable quote for the item you want customized. We only use the best quality fabrics, foam, and materials for all our items. With the reupholstery we will always keep the originality in mind so the piece doesn’t lose its value and will be ready for years of use again.
