‘Eros’ series Coffee table by Angelo Mangiarotti and manufactured by Skipper in Italy in 1971. The table is in very good condition and has stunning veins running through the Mondragone marble. The way the cut-outs of the top is placed over the feet makes the Eros series one of Mangiarotti’s more recognizable designs, and is therefore a great chance to obtain this beautiful piece in this very soothing shade of Mondragone.
Mondragone lies in the Campania region, in the South-West of Italy and the marble is a slightly metamorphosed carbonate rock, which has been used since ancient times. It is known for it’s grey and brown shades, and dramatic visual veins, patterns and shapes. Popular conetmporary examples of Mondragone are ‘Eros’ series tables by Angelo Mangiarotti.
