This highly rare and exceptionally comfortable sectional sofa, designed by Alberto Colombi and Gian Paolo Guzzetti and manufactured by Aba in Italy, 1975, is a truly remarkable find. Known as the Bonzo model, this sofa stands out for its bold, sculptural design and unparalleled comfort. What makes this piece even more special is its original cognac leather upholstery, which has developed a beautiful, natural patina over time, adding character while remaining in very good original condition. The foam remains soft and supportive, and the leather has no tears or holes, only a gentle patina that enhances its vintage charm. While the underside shows minor wear, it remains invisible and unimportant to the overall look and function.
The distinctive double backrest not only contributes to the sofa’s playful and unique aesthetic but also provides exceptional back support and comfort. The exposed seam detailing is expertly executed, further enhancing its appeal. With its large, generously proportioned elements and wide armrests, this sofa has a bold and inviting presence. One of the most striking features of this sectional is its versatility. Comprising five seating elements, a pouf, and one end piece that serves as an armrest, the fully modular design allows for various configurations to suit different spaces and preferences. The bottom is marked with the designers’ names and manufacturer, ensuring its authenticity.
