Stunning ‘Artona’ bench designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and produced in Italy by Maxalto in 1975. This bench or side table is in original condition and has small marks of usage throughout the years on the surface. Besides the inlayed Burlwood veneer top, different wood species are mixed including walnut, beech, birch. The legs consist of different wooden rods which are connected to a base plate at the bottom, and secured through the seating in the top. With the use of different types of wood, a nice spectrum of color can be seen and gives it a very graphic and eclectic appeal.
The Scarpa duo is very famous for creating minimalistic designs that bypass normal constructive solutions, which take their furniture to a different level. This piece is no exception and would make a very nice chance to obtain a beautiful design by Afra e Tobia Scarpa.
